As an owner-managed, medium-sized company, we live by strong values that put people and their environment first. Environmental and social responsibility are deeply anchored in our company culture.
And we see fulfilling this responsibility as one of the most important tasks of our time. The range of social and environmental initiatives that we actively support shows how serious we are about pursuing our charitable goals. We are extremely motivated to tackle some of the most urgent problems facing society.
A free and open society is the optimal environment for innovation and economic growth. This means that our idea of sustainability is inextricably linked to our stance on liberal democracy and social diversity.
When we shape our corporate culture, we also shape society. At GAMOMAT, psychological safety fosters open dialogue and constructive criticism. From values-based recruitment to diversity deep dives for teams, we employ various tools and initiatives continuously throughout the employee life cycle to build civil courage and to champion diversity.
As a signatory to the Charter for Diversity and a Role Model for Diversity and Inclusion (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), we have consciously taken a clear socio-political stance despite the current challenging climate.
Having a sense of political responsibility means not having to shoulder challenges alone. That’s why we partner with organizations that support the victims of digital violence and ensure respectful, democratic debate.
The earth’s resources are finite. As a sustainable company, we’re conscious of our obligations towards the planet. We save CO2 wherever possible. We offset the rest by supporting climate protection projects. When it comes to packaging, we opt for solutions that use as little material as possible, that are ideally made from recycled materials, which can be recycled again themselves.
Working with a team of independent experts, we calculated our company’s carbon footprint based on the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol. We then used this to define smart goals and measures to reduce and offset our carbon emissions. Next, we offset our carbon emissions for the years 2019 to 2024 in full using high-quality carbon certificates. These certificates go towards financing projects in developing and emerging countries that, in addition to climate action, help improve the living conditions of people in those regions.
Our employees have helped decide which different initiatives GAMOMAT financially supports for reforestation efforts.
In December 2021, we started the “Gaming for the Climate” initiative, which sees us donate a portion of GAMOMAT revenue from selected games to organisations committed to climate action and environmental protection.
