Think sustainably.
Act together.
Who acts together
can do a lot.
As an owner-managed, medium-sized company, we live by strong values. With a leitmotif that focuses on people and their living space. Ecological and social sustainability are therefore deeply anchored in our corporate culture.
For us, living up to this responsibility is one of the most important tasks of our time. How consistently we pursue our charitable social goals is reflected in the selection of social and ecological initiatives that we actively support. A choice we make together. In the team. Which not only reflects our lived corporate culture. But also our high motivation to tackle pressing social problems with commitment.
strong values.
Lived consistently.
We don’t see environmental sustainability as a trend.
But as a task.
Our planet’s resources are finite. As a sustainable company with a clear strategy for ecological and social commitment, we are aware of our responsibility.
We select our suppliers based on sustainability criteria and save CO₂ wherever possible. We compensate for the rest. When using packaging material, we opt for solutions that use as little material as possible, which – wherever possible – is recycled and can itself be recycled again.
CO₂ compensation
Together with an independent team of experts, we first created a CO₂ balance for our company according to the globally recognized Greenhouse Gas Protocol. On this basis, we have set smart targets and measures to reduce and offset CO₂. We then offset 100% of our CO₂ emissions for the 2019, 2020 and 2021 financial years with high-quality climate certificates. This compensation was achieved by financing projects in developing and emerging countries, which not only protect the climate but also improve the living conditions of the local people.
In order for sustainability activities to have a substantial impact, they must be checked regularly and adapted to current developments. Our employees then decided to financially support three different initiatives for the reforestation of forests.
Climate Protection Project
CO₂OL Tropical Mix
This environmental initiative was one of the first projects in Panama to be successfully certified to the prestigious Gold Standard for land use and forestry projects.
Original forest areas in Panama, which were used for extensive animal husbandry, are being reforested with predominantly native tree species and gradually converted into mixed forests. This protects biodiversity and restores a healthy forest ecosystem.
Climate Protection Project
Re-Spire Westerwald
In the past three years, the Westerwald has lost an estimated 90% of all spruce trees due to storms, drought and bark beetle infestation. This has not only created huge bare areas, but also the groundwater supply in the region is severely endangered.
With our donation, we are helping to turn these areas green again, establish robust mixed stocks and ensure long-term CO₂ storage.
Climate Protection Project
Uchindile & Mapanda
In the southern highlands of Tanzania, we support a project that works to reforest degraded grasslands in the districts of Uchindile and Mapanda.
Here, commercial forests are planted with a range of exotic and native tree species, as well as native fruit varieties, to enhance biodiversity and ensure forest health and resilience. The locals can use these newly formed forests through sustainable harvesting and thus create a viable basis for life.
We don’t just have a passion for games. But also for the protection of our environment.
In December 2021, we launched the “Gaming for the Climate” initiative, with which we donate part of our own income to non-profit organizations that are very committed to climate protection and ecological sustainability.
We will continue to financially support this valuable work for environmental protection in the future. Each year, an additional game is added to our initiative to support another project with a portion of our own earnings from that game. This means that the amount of donations will gradually increase. And more and more environmental initiatives are benefiting from it.
In 2021 we have selected the popular game Book of Oasis. We donate part of the revenue generated to HEALTHY SEAS, which internationally ensures the removal of ghost nets and plastic from the seas, does preventive work with fishermen and works with educational programs in schools worldwide.
Book of Oasis is an exciting adventure game that allows every player to contribute to climate protection. who dr Jeffrey Robertson, the hero of the adventure, accompanies him on his quest to find the lost Book of Oasis and can activate a free spins feature with bonus symbols and thus donate to the preservation of our climate without reducing your own chances of winning.
Since November 1st, 2022 we have been directly supporting the orangutan and rainforest protection projects of BOS Germany. Together with an international network of partner organizations, this non-profit organization protects the Borneo orangutan and its habitat by establishing large-scale protected areas and reforesting destroyed rainforests.
With our financial commitment, we are currently supporting the protection of over 200,000 hectares of intact rainforest on Borneo, the use of fire patrols at all hotspots and the reforestation of destroyed areas.
